Do you know someone who needs help?

———-

The Dave Krache Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit whose aim is to assist with financial fees related to metro Atlanta kids’ sports’ leagues and teams.  We have helped kids participate in softball, baseball, football, basketball, lacrosse, martial arts, track, cycling, and more.  The league/team does not necessarily have to be associated with the school, but a “League Assessment” is required for all teams (read on for more information!).

Step 1: The parent or guardian should start the application process.

TIP: If the parent submits the application, he or she must also directly contact the community partner they list (a social worker, coach, teacher, or pastor) to give them the head’s up that The Dave Krache Foundation will be contacting them via email.

The Dave Krache Foundation will contact the person that the parent refers us to (we will verify the connection the person has to the family and the park) and ask that this assessment is completed by the park or league if one is not already on file with the DKF.

So, that person will complete Step 2, below:

Once The Dave Krache Foundation has a completed assessment and both the parent’s application and the league’s application submitted, the Board will review the request and notify both the parent and the community partner of the decision.

NOTE: The DKF only reviews applications on the first Tuesday of each month, so depending on when your completed packet is received, you may need to make arrangements for a late registration if your league registration due date is before our date of review.

The Board will issue a check to the park/league/team.  Allow 3-5 business days for the check to arrive.

TIPS:

–  Be sure to verify the mailing address on the application at the time the application is submitted!  Re-issuing lost checks can severely delay timely payment.  If there is a problem with the address, the DKF is unable to redirect funds until the money is back via the returned check. This may affect the child’s ability to play!

–  The DKF cannot accept older versions of the application.  This online request is new and accessible by anyone – even on your smartphone!

–  All fields must be completed.  If any are left blank, the Foundation will not review the application.

–  There must be family buy-in/contribution. Only under extremely dire circumstances can the DKF help with 100% of the season fees. The minimum amount being requested should not equal the total cost of registration for the season.

–  All correspondence will be done via email.

–  The Foundation makes payments directly to the leagues/parks/teams – no individual or private business may receive payment from us.

Thank you so much for helping us keep kids in need playing the sports they love!
